Just came across this Youtube clip, and I wanted to share it with you all.
If it’s fake, Brilliant Satire. If it’s real *forehead slap.*
Basically, 2 white girls try to convince an Indian girl that she is African and they also try to save her from her heathen religion, Hinduism.
I’ve had this experience, with white people trying to define my identity and “save me” and I would like to know your feelings on it.
Since we are Spoken word artists, Poetry formed comments would be DOPE, use the clip as inspiration.
note to self, i would like to edit this to input the video to show directly, what script do i need to use?

Peace,
I just peeped this – I could barely watch half of this video with these ignorant ass white girls tryin’ to “save” this Indian girl.
Anyways, I’d like to add on that India actually has one of the largest populations of Black people outside of Africa. Shoot, there are some Indians that are darker than most so called Africans. Earlier in my blog post, I spoke about two books Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting and African Presence in Early Asia, you might be interested in checking. Though, I don’t agree with the term “African” presence – I agree with the Indigenous/Black presence (people of color) all over the planet Earth. (There are different ways to see this proof – immediately, dominant physical features, ancient remains, pottery, statues, cultural connections, etc.)

I mean, I could go on and on, yet it’s best to do your own research – Aeta in the Phillipines, Cham people in Vietnam, Andamanese people in Taiwan, on and on….shit is deep.

despite satire of not, some of these conversations really do happen. I am proud to see Saraa defend her culture and her beliefs. This is a reason why communities of color should come together and provide that support and validation. I also believe that spaces for these difficult dialogues should be implemented/integrated/institutionalized. C’mon peoples!
